Aerochrome Results, Straight from Camera
Unlike software simulations or channel-swap workflows, this filter works at the optical level — capturing the infrared and visible light blend that defines the Aerochrome aesthetic in a single shot. The sample image was captured in JPEG on a Sony full-spectrum camera with no channel swapping, just a modest hue adjustment and exposure correction in post.
Results vary subtly between camera models and sensors. Sony cameras in particular tend to render foliage as orange rather than red — a simple hue shift from orange to red in Lightroom or Photoshop brings it right into Aerochrome territory. Shooting Tips
- Auto white balance may not be ideal — a custom white balance will give you a more usable starting point
- Expose approximately one stop brighter than metered, or correct in post
- A modest hue adjustment (orange to red) in post completes the Aerochrome effect on Sony sensors
